Find the fourth consecutive even number?
(I) the sum of the last two numbers is 30
(II) the sum of the first two numbers is 22
a. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is insufficient.
b.Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) is insufficient.
c. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
d. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
e,Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient

In my Opinion ans is D
Let even nos be 2n , 2n+2, 2n+4 and 2n+6.
(a) By statement (2n+4) + (2n + 6) = 30
or 4n+ 10= 30
or 4n = 30 - 10 = 20
or 2n = 20=2 ie 10
now we can find out 3rd n 4th even no by adding 4 and 6 to 2n= 10 ie 14 and 16 respectively. Thus Sufficient.
(b) Similarlyby same logic we will get first two even no as 10 and 12. Thus we are able to find out fourth even even no . Thus Sufficient.
So ans should be D
I guess the answer is E) both a and b are not sufficient.
It has been asked to find the fourth consecutive even number, but its not sure whether the numbers are in specific order. Arshad has assumed it to be incresing order , it can be of decreasing order or just random,
